Happy Valentine’s Day! So… I wanted to use last week’s stream to record a J‑Dilla mix just for my own dance sessions at home or listening to after. Stayed off the mic during the mix and just vibed out with everyone in the chat via keyboard style lol. Didn’t have a playlist set for this…

Dilla’s birthday this week, so for this stream, I selected a few music videos from his work, Slum Village, collab work, related artists, The Ummah and Soulquarians, etc. Thanks everyone who hung out and even got a Hype Train going. Big thanks to Snorlocks aka Vic Tamoan who helped mod also!

Because of the Bay Area weather this week, I decided to play some rainy day tracks from Eddie Kendricks, Blue & Exile, and Kerri Chandler. As well as other jazzy/funky cypher friendly jams. Good chats with the homies. Finally got my stream encoding settings optimized. No dropped frames and everything seemed to run smooth. Got…

Was feeling in a bit more of a chill type of mood, so tonight’s show kicked off with some Neo Soul featuring Erykah Badu, Omar and Moonchild, as well as some Soulquarian vibes that will never get old to me. Always gotta play some 90’s Boom Bap favorites, so played some De La Soul, Grand…

All vinyl 45 set for this one. Open format, different genres, eras from Hip-Hop, Soul, Breaks, Boogie, Modern Funk, 80’s hits, Disco, House, Dancehall, practically went everywhere and longer than intended (oops). Original Videorat and Ceebreee suggested the idea for me to do an all vinyl 45 set as a GTFOH celebration to the 45th…

Decided to feature music videos with strong messages behind them as a way to honor Martin Luther King Jr. for his birthday. Some new, some old. some about love and light, some with social commentary with a call to wake-up type of message. Also sprinkled in the usual music video jams for the week. Music…

My set from DJ Detect’s Birthday Raid event. DJ PeJizzle and Crowd Control kicked it off and we all shared our stories about our homie Detect over the years. I consider this dude as one of my main DJ mentors even though he will always deny that lol. Played mostly breaks and some hip-hop here. Thanks…

My 2nd set from NYE, this time with the Happy Hour Crew. 70s/80’s classics, Hip-Hop, Dancehall and ended with some Stevie Wonder. Fun times with these guys always. Turned out that DJ PDawg was also on double duty with both the Raid Among Friends NYE event and this one too. Small world! Decided to use…

Did a set recently for the Happy Hour Fridays crew (Rhybeats, DJ Detect, DJ Crowd Control). Decided to bring back my Crate Samplers theme with the poll widget for viewers to have a chance to vote where they want my mix to go next. Different genres, artists, groups, etc. Not really a request thing but…

I’ve been using OBS to do some DJ streams on Twitch, and for the most part it’s been great, but it also took me a little bit of time to learn though. Recently I tried Streamlabs to test stream a music video set over the weekend and recorded it locally. It was meant to just…

Since COVID started, I’ve been fiddling around with different streaming platforms to play out music. Everything being online seems more reliant on visuals so I’m currently trying Serato Video, and it’s pretty fun to use. Kind of like mixing and video editing live (but using turntables to control the videos). Doing these sets live on…

Can’t believe it’s been about two years since I recorded a mix here at home. I’ve been so busy with other projects, I haven’t had the time, but since it’s 2020, I decided to hit that record button. Hints of mid-uptempo R&B, Soul, Boogie, Disco, House and Afrobeat vibes to get your two-step on. Sounds ranging…
