Teaching a free workshop for Kasanayan Movement at the Liwanag Kultural Center, Daly City. Open to all ages (students 21+up donation optional and goes directly to Liwanag Kultural Center).

7-8pm: Basic Groove & 80s/90s Party Dances
8-9pm: Open Session

  • Kasanayan Movement is a street dance class offered by Kalayaan School for Equity and GroovMekanex at the Liwanag Kultural Center. Movement aims to teach the community street dance styles and techniques but also teach the community the history, struggle, achievements, and culture of the people who created these very dance styles. Movement is a family friendly space where both youth and adults can feel safe to learn various dance styles while enhancing physical health, self expression, and community empowerment. In the spirit of the “Each one teach one” philosophy, Movement invites street dancers to share their talents and skills with the community.

    In today’s difficult times, Kasanayan Movement classes are FREE for youth & Donation based for Adults (but no one will be turned down because of lack of funds) Come through, get down, and move!
