I always gravitated towards a lot of New Jack Swing growing up. Shoutout to Teddy Riley the GOAT, one of my all-time favorite producers. The energy in the songs and swing of the drums really does make it unique. A lot of Hip-Hop dancers were incorporated into New Jack Swing music videos, so I wanted to do a little tribute to that (mixed with some Hip-Hop that has that Bay Area Houser feel) for tonight’s theme.
Classic Bobby Brown, Mint Condition, Al B. Sure, Aaron Hall, Heavy D, Wrecks N Effect and ofcourse, Guy. Houser Hip-Hop staples from Leaders of the New School, Kid N Play, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Sway & King Tech, Def Jef, EPMD (with a very young J-Lo in the video), Steady B, along with some jazzy cuts from Herb Alpert, Stetsasonic and also a Scratch Practice redemption.
Thank you to everyone who tuned in to enjoy some music with me. Big shoutout to original_videorat and snorlocks for always helping me mod the chat. I super appreciate you all! Catch you next time!
